      Society of Professional Journalists, Greater Cincinnati Pro Chapter PLEASE JOIN US ON THURSDAY, JUNE 27th FOR THE ANNUAL EXCELLENCE IN JOURNALISM AWARDS PROGRAM AND INDUCTION CEREMONIES FOR THE  GREATER CINCINNATI JOURNALISM HALL OF FAME   Five individuals will be inducted into the Greater Cincinnati Journalism Hall of Fame’s 28th class on June 27, 2019 by the Cincinnati Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be part of the annual SPJ Excellence in Journalism Awards program.  The induction program will be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the offices of Frost Brown Todd, 33rd floor of the Great American Tower, 301 East Fourth Street, downtown.   Three living honorees that will be celebrated in 2019 are:  Mike Philipps – former President and CEO of the Scripps Howard Foundation and the former editor and CEO of The Cincinnati Post and The Kentucky Post.   Clyde Gray – former WCPO-TV anchor, reporter and member of the acclaimed I-Team.  His partner on the air was Carol Williams. Carol Williams – former WCPO-TV anchor, reporter in a career that spanned 30-years with the station.  Her partner on the air was Clyde Gray. Two individuals will be inducted posthumously -- John Brough and Charles Brough (pronounced bruff) were early journalists in Cincinnati. John and Charles Brough established The Cincinnati Enquirer on April 10, 1841, changing the name of the Cincinnati Advertiser that they bought in 1840. John went into politics and was 26th Governor of Ohio during the final years of the American Civil War. Charles served as a judge on the Superior Court of Cincinnati. The Hall of Fame was created by the Greater Cincinnati Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.  The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be part of the annual Excellence in Journalism Awards program. Congratulations to all the winners and finalists that have been named to receive an award.  Thursday, June 27, 2019 -- 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Evening includes: 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. - Reception   7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Program Event will be held at the offices of Frost Brown Todd - Queen City Square   Great American Tower, 33rd Floor 301 East Fourth Street Cincinnati, OH 45202 Cost is $35 per person through June 16th (Plus applicable Eventbrite fees; includes hors d'oeuvres and drinks) Parking is $15 in Tower Garage. Tickets may also be purchased after June 16th/at the door for $40. (Guests may bring a check with them at the door.)
