      Grab your friends, put your sewing supplies in your bag and get ready to attend the Original Creative Festival in Cincinnati, OH June 23-25, 2011, at the Sharonville Convention Center, 11355 Chester Road, Sharonville, OH.

      While at the Expo you can attend classes and workshops by renowned industry educators and local experts such as Connie Crawford, Pam Damour, Cynthia Guffey, Cindy Losekamp, Darlene Miller, Judy Kessinger, Bernadette Griffith, Debbie Wendt, Marilyn Doheny, Cathy Scovill , Debbie Heck, Pam Folberth to name a few.

      The Original Creative Festival is happy to introduce The Southwest Ohio Crochet Guild, a chartered chapter of the Crochet Guild of America, which is dedicated to promoting the Art of crochet. Members have all levels of experience from novice to professional, beginner to designer. They come together to teach, share, learn, donate, travel, volunteer, and most importantly have fun. The SOCG is pleased to create and donate baby hats to new mothers at University Hospital in downtown Cincinnati.

      Cathy Robbins, of the SOCG, will be teaching a class “Learn to Crochet.” Add crochet to your creative repertoire! Cathy will go over the crochet basics, learn how to read a basic pattern and make chain, single crochet and double crochet stitches as you create a cute fashion scarf.

      Meet Ellen Gormley! In 2008, Ellen was voted the Best Crochet Designer of Home Décor by the Crochet Liberation Front.       Special attractions, classes and workshops range in topics for beginning and advanced skill levels. Make an elegant boudoir pillow, discover how to sew like a pro, learn the basics of being creative with panache, and find out how to make silk screen, designer jackets set in sleeves and more and finally you can learn how to take the “stress” out of seamstress!

      The expo will also feature inspirational and breathtaking quilt art displays and exhibits, which will include: Rose Hughes displaying quilts from her collection "The Embellished Path." The Gee's Bend Experience Quilt Exhibit. Gees Bend quilter and textile artist Claudia Pettway Charley will attend the Expo with a collection from Gees Bend Alabama. Be inspired as models from SquigglyTwigs Designs show some of their fun and creative collection of easy to sew patterns for Boutique styled clothing for all. If you can follow a simple recipe, you can sew any of these patterns in no time at all. During the Festival attendees will have the opportunity to sit and sew a seam for charity. We will be using the 6-Hour Quilt by Kaye Wood, famous quilt teacher, author and hostess of TV's Kaye's Quilting Friends Machines for the LoveQuilt Connection will be supplied by Seams Sew Easy of Fairfield OH.
