      St. Elizabeth Seton Medal Presentation

Mount St. Joseph University will honor Mary Jo Iozzio, Ph.D., with the St. Elizabeth Seton Medal on Monday, October 15, at noon, in Mater Dei Chapel on the Mount's campus. The Award Presentation includes a lecture by Dr. Iozzio, titled "Disability, Poverty, and the Common Good: Imago Dei inspired Preferential Justice." Mount St. Joseph University's St. Elizabeth Seton Medal was formally established in 1966 to recognize the educational legacy of its founders, the Sisters of Charity. Named in honor of the foundress of the Sisters of Charity, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, this award is presented annually to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to an area of theology.

Dr. Iozzio is a professor as well as the director of the Master of Theological Studies Program at Boston College School of Theology and Ministry. Her primary teaching expertise spans Catholic Social Teaching, Disability Studies, Theological Anthropology, and Bioethics/Healthcare Ethics--Just Care. She also serves as the series editor of Content and Context in Theological Ethics.
