      Dean of McMicken College of Arts & Sciences, Dr. Ronald L. Jackson II is one of the leading communication and identity scholars in the nation.  Jackson is Past President of the Eastern Communication Association and currently co-editor (with Kent Ono) of Critical Studies in Media Communication. His research explores empirical, conceptual, and critical approaches to the study of masculinity, identity negotiation, Whiteness, and Afrocentricity. He is author of twelve books including Scripting the Black Masculine Body in Popular Media, African American Pioneers in Communication Research (with Sonja Brown Givens); and Masculinity in the Black Imagination (with Mark Hopson).  His most recent works are Sage Encyclopedia of Identity and Culturing Manhood: Global perspectives on Masculinity and Manhood (University of Illinois Press), and Marginalized Masculinities in the Media (with Jamie Moshin).
