Join us for an education resource fair (5:30-6:00 p.m.) followed by a town hall meeting (6:00 - 7:30 p.m.) with leaders in the field of education: CPS Superintendent Laura Mitchell, PreSchool Promise's Vanessa White, and Treigg Turner, Education Chair for the NAACP. Our host will be Radio One personality, Lincoln Ware! Parents will get info. on how to make sure their children succeed, and have time for Q&A with the panelists. The National Newspaper Publishers Association (Black-owned newspapers across the country) is hosting this town hall meeting for the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) which was signed into law by former President Barack Obama in December 2017. Enjoy Corinthian Baptist Church's choir as well as spoken word poetry to start the program! After the program, attendees will be treated to dinner and there will be more time to check out the resource tables. Dinner, resource fair, and town hall meeting are FREE! There is plenty of free parking. Corinthian Baptist Church's NEW LOCATION is 1930 Tennessee, next to the Norwood Lateral's Reading Rd. exit.
